Stunning Shamanic Rattle with Triskelle, Fluorite, Sandalwood and Rowan wood handle handcrafted by us in our rural workshop. The bowl of this rattle is hand sewn and filled with Fluorite to encourage spiritual communication and Sandalwood for inner focus. We have painted a Triskelle on one side and a branch symbol on the other. The handle is made from a beautiful piece of locally found Rowan wood. 
The Rowan tree is often called 'Witchwood' and is long known for aid and protection against enchantment. It is also associated with divination, astral work, strength,  initiation, healing, psychic energies, working with spirits of the dead, psychic powers, personal power, and success. Sticks of the Rowan were used to carve Runes on. It was also used in the art of metal divining. Rowan spays and crosses were placed over cattle in pens and over homes for protection. The berries also have a tiny pentagram on them. The Rowan tree indicates protection and control of the senses from enchantment and beguiling. The Rowan was sacred to the Druids and the Goddess Brigit. It is a very magical tree used for wands, rods, amulets and spells. 
Rowan being a sacred Celtic tree we have also burnt the Rowan Ogham (luis) onto the piece for added protection and energy.
The Triskelle is an ancient Celtic symbol symbolic of the threefold nature of the Goddess as mother, maiden and crone, it is also representative of the forces of nature (earth, fire and water) According to the Celts, the most important things in the world came in threes; three domains (earth, sea and sky), three elements, three stages of life etc. 
We have added a leaf spiral to the handle and finished it with a little of our homemade lavender, beeswax and olive oil polish for protection, recycled leather fringe trim, cruelty free naturally molted feathers and vintage beads. Approx 36cm / 14.5" length.
Shamanic Rattles are the voices of our ancestors and spirits who come to help the healing process. They are vessels for magic and sacred items and carry the energy of rain and water within them. When you use a rattle to clear energy or a space the vibration and sound takes on the energy of water as it flows around and washes over you gently cleansing and refreshing your aura and energy as though standing under a waterfall
Shamanic Rattles can be used for healing, clearing, raising vibration and just for the joy their wonderful resonance brings to the soul. 
We are very mindful to pay our respects to the animals spirit and ask for its blessing as it is reborn as a wonderful sacred object. Our rattles are made using goat hide which brings with it the spirit of this confident and balanced creature.
