Simply beautiful bowl made from English Oak Burr wood, totally stunning markings on this bowl as the burr creates amazing patterns within the grain. Burrs occur on trees often around the site of a lost branch where a bacteria or fungi takes hold and creates a gnarly lump on the tree. When these burrs are cut into the patterns inside are truly beautiful...nature really is awesome!
Oak carries the energy of kingship and wise rule, personal sovereignty, authority, power, protection, sealing or opening doors, endurance, and invocation of wisdom, fertility, and abundance. The Druids associated the oak with the Wren. Closely aligned with the elements Earth, Water, and Spirit, the Oak is considered to be the most powerful and the most sacred to the Druids. Wizards consider this the most amplified wood to use in spells that work with time and counter spells. Oak brings vitality and long life and Oak magic inspires bravery, presence, leadership skills, prosperity, and strength “Mighty oaks from little acorns grow” goes the quote.
This tree inspires us to be strong in body, mind and spirit. It is a sacred and revered tree representing endurance, power, protection and authority.
Oak being a sacred Celtic tree we have also burnt the Oak Ogham (duir) onto the back for added protection and energy.
